I'm Baaaccckkk!!!

Ok, I'm sure my five readers have been wondering where the hell I've been. Well it has been a crazy summer. My family and I just got back from Florida vacationing at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. We were there for seven days and I can honestly say that we were crazy for doing it. That vacation was about three days too long. Don't get me wrong it was an awesome trip but after awhile your sunburned skin and empty wallet just start to hurt and all you want to do is go home and curl up in a ball on your own bed. We decided it was better to do Disney one day and Universal the next for the whole trip.

Day 1

Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom. It was unbelievable. We arrived early in the morning and parked in the furthest parking lot they had. We took a tram to the dock where we took a ferry to the island. It was hot already that morning and I was sweating before we even got into the Magic Kingdom. Once we got there we went to bag check. I can honestly say I am not sure what they were looking for since they really didn't check my bag at all. Once we got in we took tons of pictures and went straight to the castle. It was huge and beautiful. Once we got in we quickly realized that this was going to be a long, hot and sticky day. There was a minimum of a 70 minute wait or more for each ride! OMG! Then to top it all off there a ton of tour groups from Brazil. Now, Disney may be the friendliest place on earth but that only extends to their staff. These Brazilians were loud and obnoxious. Yelling and clapping over the staff. We could hardly hear anything. At the end of the day we tried to catch a show and these Brazilian tour groups, who were mostly female, would not shut up. It was so hard to hear anything. I was so disappointed. We finally got back to the hotel at around 1:30 am.

Day 2

We woke up late. Tired and sore from the previous day of walking. We went to Universal Studios where it rained half the day. It was hot and muggy and then wet. The Brazilians were there loud and obnoxious as ever. Oh joy. It was a short day. We got to see a couple of things and my husband and daughter did the Disaster attraction, after that we just went back to the hotel room and slept.

Day 3

We went to Universal Studios. Surprise...my monthly gift arrived and I was cramping and feeling like crap. It was great that it was another hot and muggy day. We did the Sherek 3-D. It was to cool. Of course the tour group was there. Not what I wanted to deal with that day. We walked around and took in the sights. I wanted to do the Tower of Terror but the wait was a killer and so were my cramps. So we did what we could and saw a parade. Shortly after that it rained...we left early again. When I say early I mean sometime around five to six o'clock. which really isn't early if you think about it. Back at the hotel, after the rain stopped we went swimming, well the kids did I just sat and watched. The hotel has a beautiful waterfall swimming pool and slide which the kids thoroughly enjoyed.

Day 4

We went to Universal Island of Adventures. This was a fun day. My daughter did every crazy roller coaster ride they had with my husband. I stayed back with my son and enjoyed all that Dr. Seussland had to offer. We did all the rides and even a couple twice. Of course we went to Harry Potter world again and I was disappointed that they didn't have new rides like I thought they had but it was fun all the same. We did the Hogwarts ride again and it was just as fun as I remembered. We did Jurassic Park and the rides associated with that park. It was fun and very wet. Much to my joy, there was no tour group this day. We got back to the hotel late and we were all exhausted.

I won't go through the other days because they all begin to blur after that. I will say that most of the days it rained after 3pm and usually didn't last for more than a hour. Also, the tour groups were at all at the parks after Day 5. I will say that I was happy that one of the parks employees at Universal Studios working the Disaster attraction finally told them that they were too loud and in a polite manner basically told them to shut the hell up. Who ever that guy is...a big thank you!

By Friday we were exhausted and anxious to come home. The hotel Caribe Royale was a great hotel, I highly recommend it. The food and staff were great and this vacation was, on a whole, pretty wonderful.

Now...life has not slowed. My dad's dog got sick and when we took him to the vet they found that he has advanced heart worm disease. Poor Jackie. Five hundred dollars later (which is not the last bill we will get) the vet says that he will get better but it will take months. With all that is happening this is just one more thing I just didn't need. Saturday  we move and shortly after the kids start school. Life has a way a filling up your days with a bunch of crap to do.

I have decided not to get a job until September after the move and kids go back to school. I am looking forward to going back to work. My book should be completed by the end of August (fingers, eyes and legs crossed) and should be in the Boulder Bookstore by the middle of September. So keep an eye out for that. Don't worry since I am doing my own marketing I will be mentioning this again : )

So now, my five faithful followers, you are caught up on what has been happening. I will be keeping up with my blog from here on out so that you have something to read in the restroom or where ever you like it.

Until next time....

Day 6 Shake Day

This is day six and although there wasn't anything really eventful about the day there are updates to be shared. My husband and I have noticed that we are sleeping better and waking up with fewer aches and pains and issues. Now, we are not sure if that's because of the weight loss or the cleansing that we are going through. Also, I have noticed that while studying for my LSAT I have more focus and ability to analyze better. My exercise stamina is better. I did workout again at the gym but I am winding down. I am only doing 45 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes walking. No extra bike ride tonight. All in all, we are getting used to the program and feel that we have benefited from it. We are also going to continue try to reach our respective goal weight. Our next purchase will be the 30 program which we will share. Since it cost $200+ each we are trying save money by just splitting it. I will keep you posted and on Tuesday of next week (August 16th) I will post our 9 day pr...

Isn't this over yet?!

Sometimes I just want to scream! It feels like the last 2 and half years have just taken a crap on me and my family and there seems no end in sight.  Oh let's recap shall we... 2016 was my son's first open heart surgery followed by a plethora of doctor's appointments and other surgeries. I thought it was over by the end of the year and took the advice of Whitney Houston and friends when I exhaled. However, my fun filled days were not over yet and I found myself dumbfounded by the turn of events in my life.  2017 started out fine...well not really. January brought us the bad news that our black Lab Molly Mae had cancer. It was in her bones and basically there was nothing to do but love her.  So, that's what we did. We took her home and loved her. Then, in April we were informed that my son needed to have another open heart surgery because the tissue valve that they put in was not performing the way that they thought that it would and now needed ...

Nail Journal Update

No, my five wonderful readers, I have not forgotten about you. I went camping! Yes, yours truly went into the woods and camped. Actually I drove through the woods to a cabin. But before you say that's not real camping. Let me elaborate. It was a one room cabin, no running electricity, no running water, no restroom. See...that is camping.  And before you say "ewww" there was an outhouse down the dirt road for us to use. Now you can say ew.  Really it wasn't so bad.  We camped out in Hermit Park by Estes Park Colorado .  So we were out there for 4 nights, 5 days. That's a lot when you have to ration water, keep your own food cold in the cooler (which this wasn't too hard since there was still snow on the ground) and figure out lighting at night. Now in all fairness, the cabin had propane lighting and a stove with a heater, Not too bad.  Why am I telling you this and what does this have to do with nails? I'll tell you.  As you ...
