NO Takers? Ok I'll please myself.

On my last blog I asked for input regarding what to write about so that I can please or at least interest the masses. The response have been staggering. NONE...well except the one from Facebook... you know who you are Big D. So, I guess I am simply talking to myself with a few stop-on-by blog enthusiasts who read me now and then. I will continue what I have done this entire time and that is please myself with my writing. That seems to work, well for me anyway.

I am a writer not only of this blog but of books. I have finished my second poetry book Veneficus and got my proof copy yesterday. I am so excited. It looks great and I have hardly any changes to be made which means that I will be able to have it available for sale in the near future. Of course I shared the book with my sister who was here this weekend visiting. She laughed because there is a poem that was inspired by her from one of her many visits. It seems my sister did something to her feet awhile back and caused herself to have a black toe. Ewww is right it was down right nasty but it did inspire my poem Ode to the Black Toe which has been dedicated to her in my new book.

Now that this poetry book is done I was asked what my next project will be. It's a book that has taken me more than twenty years to write, the title is The Great Chase. I have about ten chapters in and find it difficult to get all of the information down on paper. My thoughts and ideas come flooding in and my poor fingers just cannot keep up. I am a decent typist but when it comes to writing a book it's a little different than simply typing a letter or taking dictation. You can read a sample of the book on my website at www.jennipherdallas.com.

I am looking forward to writing a novel verses poetry only because it will be something new. I am on the hunt for a good editor and hope to finish this long awaited novel (well I've waited to be done for a long time) by the end of this year. So those of you who are interested, visit my website.

Until next time...

Day 6 Shake Day

This is day six and although there wasn't anything really eventful about the day there are updates to be shared. My husband and I have noticed that we are sleeping better and waking up with fewer aches and pains and issues. Now, we are not sure if that's because of the weight loss or the cleansing that we are going through. Also, I have noticed that while studying for my LSAT I have more focus and ability to analyze better. My exercise stamina is better. I did workout again at the gym but I am winding down. I am only doing 45 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes walking. No extra bike ride tonight. All in all, we are getting used to the program and feel that we have benefited from it. We are also going to continue try to reach our respective goal weight. Our next purchase will be the 30 program which we will share. Since it cost $200+ each we are trying save money by just splitting it. I will keep you posted and on Tuesday of next week (August 16th) I will post our 9 day pr...

Isn't this over yet?!

Sometimes I just want to scream! It feels like the last 2 and half years have just taken a crap on me and my family and there seems no end in sight.  Oh let's recap shall we... 2016 was my son's first open heart surgery followed by a plethora of doctor's appointments and other surgeries. I thought it was over by the end of the year and took the advice of Whitney Houston and friends when I exhaled. However, my fun filled days were not over yet and I found myself dumbfounded by the turn of events in my life.  2017 started out fine...well not really. January brought us the bad news that our black Lab Molly Mae had cancer. It was in her bones and basically there was nothing to do but love her.  So, that's what we did. We took her home and loved her. Then, in April we were informed that my son needed to have another open heart surgery because the tissue valve that they put in was not performing the way that they thought that it would and now needed ...

3 day nail check in

It had been three days since I have removed my nails and coated them with Sally Hansen's Hard as Wraps nail covering. Now the directions say to take off the polish after three days and restart the process all over again with two (2) new coats. When they say that you need to remove the polish after three days and start over, they mean it. Here is what happens on the third day, prompting you to remove the polish. My nails with the initial tear on the polish. The polish starts to lift and tear off. It started with a small uplift on the side of my nails and I pulled off the rest. Surprisingly, the whole thing came off without having to use nail polish remover. The problem with that, though, is that my nails underneath are still very thin and weak.  In this picture the nail is bent. It's a little hard to see it but I am bending my nail. The weak condition of my nails has continued and I see no real change to them . The next picture is of  the top of my nail, showing the te...
